The Versatility of GPS Tracking Systems

by Gary Pearson

There are many kinds of tracking which you can do these days with GPS tracking system. These systems have become very versatile these days. You can simultaneously track different employees travelling in separate directions. This detailed tracking obviously has many uses. It will enable coordination of deliveries, save on costs and help widen the reach of services over the course of the day.

Apart from active tracking, it is possible to do passive tracking as well. This kind of tracking enables you to analyze and monitor the movements of employees at the end of the day. With such detailed data available, it is possible to verify expenses, mileage reports and log books maintained by employees. This kind of tracking is routinely done by many companies these days. It helps keep the employees on their toes and encourages truthful reporting.

Other GPS tracking systems are portable and are used by mountain climbers, bikers, hikers, campers, and general adventure seekers. Golfers use portable GPS tracking systems that show them where the next hole is and what kind of terrain they’re looking at up ahead.

Some of the more luxurious golf resorts have employed GPS technology as an in-dash model that will show the golfer each hole, terrain, and the like. With the resort monitoring the GPS tracking systems, if a golfer has an emergency out on the course, the management can get help to him or her quickly.

Some people buy GPS tracking systems to follow their teen’s activities behind the wheel, and still others purchase them to monitor their elderly relative’s routes just in case something were to happen. GPS tracking systems can do much more than simply give you the location of a vehicle. They could, in fact, save a life.

Cool Features Offered by the Garmin Quest 2 GPS Unit

by Sean McPhearson

The Garmin Quest 2 is a neat little global positioning system. It’s a small unit that is power packed to sit on your vehicle dash one minute, and then take a ride in your pocket the next.

It’s amazing how the Quest 2, along with it’s predecessor, the Quest, have an amazing supply of powerful navigational abilities in such a small compact size. In fact, the Garmin Quest 2 is only 4.5 inches long, 2.2 inches wide, and less than 1 inch thick!

The Garmin Quest 2’s small size predisposes it to a variety of functions. You can use it to help all kinds of things while you’re walking around the city trying to find that good resturant Aunt Jane told you about, or get to the best fishing spot Uncle Jake clued you in on at Christmas. Basically, if you need to find something, the Quest 2 can help!

The features of the Garmin Quest 2 are fantastic no matter if you need it for a business trip or to simply get around a new city:

*Voice prompts to tell you where to turn next so you don’t have to take your eyes off the road

*The high-speed computer calculates detours or route variations quickly and easily saving you time

*The lithium battery lasts 20 hours before you have to recharge it.

*You can download additional maps and points of interest using the USB connection

*A screen that is easier to read in the sunlight than most other units

Because the maps are preloaded into the Garmin Quest 2, you’ll be able to pull it out of the box and instantly find nearly 6 million points of interest. That means that if you need a hotel, a resturant, a bank, or a gas station quickly, all you’ll have to do is hit a couple buttons and a list of the closest options to you will show up. Then you simply pick the place you want to go to and it’ll take you there, step by step!

The other cool thing about the Garmin Quest 2 is that it’s waterproof up to 1 meter deep. That means you can sit in the bath and play with it. Now who would have thought!? No really, it works great for marine expeditions or your next fishing adventure. Take your Garmin Quest 2 with you everywhere. You’ll wish you owned it a long time ago!
