Conference Bridge

by Ray Lam

Telecommunication is empowering businesses and touching the lives of people around the world ever since its emergence. It has made possible for people to communicate over long distances in real time. Telecommunication has made possible efficient worldwide working and allows people to harness the advantages of globalization and business processes outsourcing. Conference Calling made it possible for people to work from different parts of the world at the same time and ensure that the research and development works for your organization go on with the fastest speed and most efficiency.

Conference calls are usually initiated by one caller who contacts the other participants one at a time connecting each person to the call. Having access to your own conference call bridge will eliminate this lengthy and sometimes expensive process. A conference bridge will enable callers to dial a specific phone number and security code which will connect them directly to the conference call. This way it is not left up to one person to contact all participants. Many conference bridges have different options and advanced features to suit your needs.

You should only invest in conference call bridges that offer secure conference calls using encryption features. Flawed devices have led to such horror stories of information theft that businesses have had to shut down because of the loss they suffered due to such information leak.

Conference calls are generally routed using special bridges which are very expensive devices and take almost all the load of conference call traffic. While investing in a conference call bridge, a lot of factors have to be kept under consideration. The most important of these is the clarity of voice output. Since bridges carry most of the call traffic, they are prone to heavy loads. This leads to a lot of signal distortion at the conference call bridges. Thus you must invest in bridges with high noise cancellation and favourable signal to noise ratio. If you can lay your hands on conference call bridges with noise cancellation features, so much the better.

While there are a number of service providers who will organize multi-party calls via a conference bridge, if your business regularly has need of these services then you will be able to save money in the long run by purchasing your own conference bridge and scheduling the calls in-house. Of course, it’s important that you shop around and compare the various options which are available to you in order to find the bridge that will best meet the needs of your company at a price that isn’t excessive. Consider the size of your company’s average conference calls and whether the participants are branch offices, freelancers and agents, or clients; this will help you to determine the number of connections that your bridge will need to be able to handle as well as whether you would be better served with a basic bridge that users can call in to or if you should instead purchase one with autodialer features and scheduling software. You may also wish to make sure that the bridge you are considering is compatible with both standard public telephone systems and Voice Over Internet Protocol systems, as VOIP systems are becoming much more common in business and you’ll want to make sure that the bridge you purchase will be useful to you in the long term.

The Ipaq Pocket PC H5550 and H1910

by Michael Erikson

Staying connected when on the go is important to most people. It is why they carry around cell phones, lap tops and PDAs. You are probably the same way. You need to keep track of your important schedules, appointments and must have the ability to stay connected wherever you may be. Thanks to the people at Hewlett Packard, you can stay connected with pocket PCs. The iPAQ Pocket PC model H5550 and the H1910 are perfect examples of being able to stay mobile in the world around you.

Well, the answer to this dilemma may be an iPAQ Pocket PC. There are two different versions to choose from that offer you the versatility of being connected with others and still offer easy portability that comes from pocket PCs.

So what should you expect from both of these great pieces of technology? Well, you get a pocket PC that is roughly the size of a deck of cards. The H5550 is slightly bigger than the H1910, but both are slim, which translates into an easy carrying size perfect for your purse, briefcase or pocket. Both have a trans-reflective display that is of the highest quality and produces clear, high definition pictures. Both have removable batteries, which means you can replace the battery with a fully charged one and not have to worry about losing your important documents and files.

The iPAQ Pocket PC model H5550 is much more expensive than the H1910. It is different than the Palmos, but you get more for your money. So what does it cost?

The biometric scanner is a clear winning point because it means that if your hand held is ever stolen, someone will not be able to retrieve your documents or use your pocket PC software.

The H1910 model is absolutely worth the price, even though it has less power and a few drawbacks, such as the headphone jack. If you want better quality headphones, then you will have to purchase an adapter at a Radio Shack, but they are relatively inexpensive. Also not included with the pocket PC is the cradle. You can purchase the cradle for around $49.

With the iPAQ Pocket PC H5550 or the H1910, you can stay connected without worrying about lugging around a laptop and a PDA. Both come with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, which means that you can stay connected without worrying about plugging into an internet port. Both pocket PCs are great for staying mobile, while on the go. Just make sure and check out the spec’s for both hand held devices and then decide which is best for you!

The New Accredited Distance Learning Courses

by Charlie Reese

Boost Your Career With Accredited Distance Learning Courses

If you are looking to give a boost to your career as well as also become better qualified, you need to give taking accredited distance learning courses a serious second thought. To be sure, accredited distance learning courses are useful only when they provide you with the best instructions and a solid education that will go a long way in helping you earn an out-of-turn promotion or land a more lucrative job, or even perhaps enter into a whole new type of career. What’s more, with the help of accredited distance learning courses, you can earn more money and also do your studies part time while having many different subject streams to choose from.

Overwhelming Experience

When you are confronted by the many options offered by the many accredited distance learning courses you can be quite overwhelmed by the choices available. Whether you want to study medicine to become a nurse or wish to become an engineer, there are many excellent accredited distance learning courses waiting to be taken. Even better, these accredited distance learning courses are now being offered by the best institutions of education as well as top-notch universities who provide a variety of courses that span everything from golf to psychology.

If you are serious about attaining your future goals, then taking accredited distance learning courses is the way to go, though at the same time you need to be prepared to invest your time and money to take advantage of the many available choices. It is a good idea to first of all make your final decision with considerable care, especially as no two accredited distance learning schools will offer the same courses. Without a doubt, an accredited distance learning program is the best means of attaining your future goals, but it should be taken from only the more reputable institutions of learning, otherwise prospective employers may not consider it quite so favorably.

It is a good idea to research different accredited schools to ensure that the one that you finally settle on has the desired course, provides better than acceptable quality of education and they also allow you to transfer the credits, if necessary. Also, the curriculum of studies must be in tune with changing needs, especially as in today’s fast paced world, things change very rapidly and new technologies make not so old ones almost obsolete faster than you can say the word study.

When all is said and done, choosing accredited distance learning courses for furthering your educational qualifications is a laudable goal and a sure means of making your career a success, provided of course that you enroll at a school that has an enviable reputation. The course you select should also preferably be a leader in education and sure to provide students with the best of skills that can then be applied in modern day workplaces.
