Work from Home: Work from home employment

by dietz rumery

With all the homes destroyed in recent years, the need to keep an inventory of your home is obvious. People lose household items they forgot they had. With a good inventory list, you will fair much better with your insurance claim. We see three ways people are offering services in this area.

Many people don’t have a good idea of all the valuable things in their homes. Very few people have the time, or interest. to document all the items in their home. This is where the home inventory business comes in.

This business involves helping people create an inventory list. There are a few ways this can be done. This can be self-help, or a service that you provide. Let’s see what people are offering.

The first way is to just do the inventory for the client. This involves going to the home and documenting all of the important items in the house.

You will organize the pictures and forms into a folder for your customer. He then has everything he needs for an insurance claim. He should store this in a safe place, away from the home.

Another business that is being run in the home inventory area is selling a software program so the home owner can do everything themselves. This is a one time purchase.

Still another style of home inventory business is storing data online. These companies have you join their website and put the data into your own personal folder. They then store this for you on their server.

This system has many good benefits. First you don’t have to worry about losing your list. It is safe from all dangers.

You can access your data anytime you want. Updates are easy because of this. You can make hard copies of your inventory as added security.

This seems like a way to go. The website will charge a small annual or monthly fee. This is for use of the software, and storage of your data.

I think there is a good home based business here. It doesn’t take much to get started. The number of clients seems limitless. It can pay quite well. I think that’s a winner.

How Criminal Identity Theft Can Affect Your Life

by Paul Wilcox

Criminals steal from people in many ways. Breaking into someone’s home and taking their belongings, robbing an individual of whatever they have on hand, stealing a car, and so forth. However, a new dimension in thievery has come about in recent times.

When a thief actually steals another person’s identity, that is know as criminal identity theft. You can protect yourself against criminal identity theft by understanding what it is, ways that your identity can be stolen, and ways to protect yourself from this damaging crime.

What Is Criminal Identity Theft?

Criminal identity theft is that situation in which an unscrupulous individual takes on the identity of another person with the purpose of posing as that individual. The repercussions of this action can take a negative toll on the person whose identity has been stolen.

Credit ratings, financial standings, employment interviews, legal matters can all be negative effected by criminal identity theft. The actions of the thief are reflected upon the the identity that has been stolen, either negative or positive.

In addition, unfortunately, criminal identity theft is not noticed unless the criminal engages in an illegal activity and is apprehended. In addition, credit cards or other financial activities may be engaged in by the criminal. If the individual with the true identity is unaware of this financial activity it may reflect poorly on the victim if the person who engages in the criminal identity theft defaults on that financial arrangement.

One of the most difficult aspects for someone whose identity has been stolen is clearing their good name. It is often a legal nightmare.

Protective Steps

To minimize the possibilities of criminal identity theft there are a number of steps that an individual should take. First of all, it is imperative that the social security card or social security number never be carried with an individual.

Also, if you lose your wallet or purse along with any identification, make sure you report your loss to the authorities. In addition, if the drivers license is lost it is important to notify the local Department of Motor Vehicles.

Finally, check your credit report yearly. And if you are anxious about losing sensitive material, enroll in a fraud alert system, which will notify you if any activity related to your identity or financial accounts is occurring.

How to choose your web designer

by Robin Porter

A few years ago the web looked very different. There was little in the way of dynamic content, except a bit of Flash aniamtion, that most people steered clear of due to the drain on bandwidth. Back then, quality of design was a side issue.

Nowadays, things are a lot different ? we are in the web 2.0 era, and rapidly approaching web 3.0. Since web designing is quite a profitable business, it was inevitable for so-called designers to appear everywhere. Thanks to already-built designs and how-to guides, almost anybody that knows what web design is, can make a website . The problem appears when we discuss quality.

You need a web designer because you want a professional website built for your website. And this means opting for established designers, rather than those who are still learning. (Granted there are many talented new guys learning the craft, but you need to think carefully before becoming one of their “test projects” - your business is important to you after all). You must ensure they deliver the basics of web design - a user friendly, visually appealling website that loads very quickly.

The same thing goes with usability - if they find it hard to find the things they are looking for, they will leave sooner than you think. Therefore, a professional web designer that understands your needs is almost imperative. Do not search for the cheapest one on the market, because it will surely not make it worth your while. Now, there are some things you should look for when searching for the perfect web designer for your business, and I detail them carefully below:

* Is he open minded? Your designer should listen to your opinions and requirements - after all you know your business better than anyone. He should be able to take what you know about your business and customers and mould it with what he knows about web design. See if he listens and and asks the right questions, rather than trying to impose a solution on you. The desired result is a fusion of ideas to produce a remarkable website, rather than a “cookie cutter” solution.

* Good and fast - No matter how long the prohject is, you should always make sure progress is being made towards the end of the project. Ask him to complete the project in stages and tell you how long each stage will take. Make sure to review each stage as you go, to make sure he is completing everything to your satisfaction.

* Is he promoting usability? As we discussed, your business needs a website that your customers find useful - it should not be glittery and flashy at the expense of usability. Make sure he understands this - if he seems to intent on selling you all the “bells and whistles” then walk away.

Finding the perfect web designer is a difficult task but should not be totally impossible, if you follow what we have discussed . Review his portfolio to see if his past works are usable and well designed, ask questions and you shouldn’t go too far wrong. If anything arises that makes you think he might not be suited to your business, then walk away and find another one.
